TASTEFUL VEGETABLE AND MASOOR TIKKIS - by Dr. Shuchy Chug

I think all in your family would enjoy this tasteful and nutritious snack. Following makes 8 Tikkis.

Ingredients :-
  • 1\4 cup whole masoor.
  • 1\4 cup mint (podeena) finely chopped.
  • 2 tablespoon low fat paneer
  • 2 tablespoon peas (crushed)
  • 1\4 cup cabbage (chopped finely)
  • 1\2 onion (chopped finely)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-chilly paste
  • 2 teaspoon whole-wheat crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • 1-teaspoon oil for cooking.

Method :-
  • Combine the soaked masoor dal with 2 cups of water and pressure cook till the masoor is soft and slightly overcooked but not mashed.
  • Drain the excess water and coarsely pound the masoor in a mortal and pestle.
  • Combine the masoor paste with the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Devide the mixture into 8 equal portions and flatten them into rounds.
  • Heat a nonstick and cook each tikki over a high flame using a little oil until both sides are brown in colour.
